Hand-harvested unpressed grapes go into amphoras with the stems. The georgian clay pots lay in the ground right next to the vines! The wine spend an entire cycle of 4 seasons underground.
The BergWerk from Georg Schmelzer stems from wild-grown cabernet sauvignon. The small, dark, super flavorful, hand-harvested grapes will then be filled into amphoras in the ground right next to the vines! Which then spend an entire cycle of 4 seasons being matured and treated by the sassy elements, cultivating an earthy, rustic and complex character and notes of blackberry, black cherry, cassis and plum. The intense complex taste could remind you of Rum.
