big used oak barrels, matured on the lees
Buteo 2019 from Michael Gindl is a great version of Grüner Veltliner. Freshness comes through in some yellow apple and lime notes. It is slightly fizzy at first, then you can detect a hint of caramel and some oxidative vibes. It is also smoky, nice present acidity and a long beautiful finish. This is a special vintage indeed! The 2020 has the same style: citrusy, high acidity and a light oxidative note. Some new flavours in there, there is green apple, lemon, white peppercorn, mint and a bit of fizz.
